Fakenham Fairways is and Golf and Camping Complex on Burnham Market Road, and now that Spring is finally here local ladies are being encouraged to head down to Fakenham Fairways on Tuesday 14 June, between 10.30am and 12 noon, where they can enjoy a free ‘taste of golf’ alongside some coffee and cake. The ladies will get a chance to hit some balls and get some tips from Fakenham Fairways golf professional Nick Catchpole.

Owner Jacqui Lax said, “We work closely with Fakenham Golf Club and with the golf professionals based here and at the golf club. It can be a bit daunting to consider playing on a golf course when you are just getting into the game and our ‘taste of golf’ morning is introducing ladies to the basics of golf in a comfortable environment, whilst meeting people from the local club over a coffee and cake”. If you enjoy that session you will be able to sign up for a 4 week Get Into Golf course for only £20.

This promotion follows the success of a number of their customers, including Angie Hiles who has gone on to join the local Fakenham golf club.

Jacqui said, “Angie started coming along to the driving range and the Pitch and Putt here to have a go at golf – and with a lot of practice and some lessons to help with technique, she has gone from strength to strength.”

Angie confirmed, “I love coming along to the driving range and pitch and putt – and my practice has paid off. I have now joined Fakenham Golf Club and have even started playing in competitions – which I never thought I would do when I started out. I’d encourage anyone to come along here and give golf a go, it’s a lovely friendly environment and everyone is really encouraging.”

Local resident Cheryl Lincolns agrees. She has been coming to Fakenham Fairways for a few years and added, “When I started coming along to the pitch putt a few years ago I’d never have dreamed of being able to play on a proper golf course. But that’s exactly what I do now after plenty of practice – and some golf taster lessons to help with technique I’m a member at Fakenham Golf club and enjoy joining in competition days as well as playing rounds of golf socially with friends. There’s a lovely atmosphere at Fakenham Fairways and everyone is really friendly and encouraging, which definitely encouraged me to want to improve.”
